Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, LLC (TBTN) and Toyota Boshoku Jackson Tennessee, LLC (TBJT), in collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), hosted its second annual Zero Waste Tennessee community collection event on October 26 at Rockabilly Stadium in Jackson.

Paper, plastic and tires collected during the 2026 Zero Waste Tennessee event hosted by Toyota Boshoku Tennessee and Toyota Boshoku Jackson Tennessee in Jackson, Tennessee.
The event provided residents with a convenient way to recycle or properly dispose of difficult-to-manage materials. Team members from TBTN and TBJT supported collecting, sorting, and traffic coordination. TDEC sponsored the event, and TBTN coordinated the participating recycling vendors and services.
Participants delivered 2,656 pounds of materials, including e-waste, plastic, metal, glass, paper, batteries and tires, for appropriate recycling, recovery, or disposal.
“Hosting this event for a second year reflects our belief that environmental stewardship extends beyond our manufacturing operations,” said Kenichi Morimura, TBTN Plant General Manager. “By working with TDEC, TBJT, our recycling partners and the Jackson community, we can make responsible material recovery more accessible and increase awareness of practical ways to reduce waste.”
The October 26 activity continued the momentum of TBTN’s inaugural Zero Waste Tennessee event in 2025. The event also builds on TBTN’s receipt of the 2026 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for Materials Management, one of Tennessee’s highest environmental honors. TDEC recognized TBTN for achieving landfill-free status and developing a comprehensive materials-management program focused on waste prevention, reuse, recycling, employee engagement, supplier collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Jackson facility diverted 11,921 tons of material from landfills in 2025.
