TUCSON, AZ, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Registration is now open for the 12th annual Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC), a free virtual conference taking place Nov. 3-5, 2026, hosted by the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC). The annual event brings together more than 1,000 higher education professionals, researchers, practitioners, and employer partners for professional development, networking, and discussions about emerging trends shaping teaching and learning.
This year’s conference, “A New Dawn of Higher Education: The Higher-Order Learning Behind Workforce-First Education,” will explore how colleges and universities can integrate higher-order intellectual exploration with workforce-focused learning to help students succeed in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving world.
“TLC 2026 is an exciting opportunity to bring together colleagues from across higher education, the military, and industry to learn from one another and imagine what is possible when academic learning and workforce preparation are intentionally connected,” said the TLC Steering Committee. “The impact of that kind of collaboration extends far beyond the conference itself. It has the potential to influence how we design learning, support students, and prepare them to navigate an increasingly complex world.”
Throughout the three-day conference, presenters will examine how institutions are refining curriculum, instruction, assessment, advising, and student support to better meet the needs of today’s learners. Sessions will highlight approaches grounded in research, outcomes data, reflective practice, employer engagement, and cross-institutional collaboration.
TLC 2026 will feature sessions across key areas including:
• Focused Learning Design, exploring curriculum, evidence-based teaching, and assessment practices that align meaningful learning with workforce needs.
• Workforce Needs and Educational Solutions, examining evolving employer expectations, workforce-aligned learning outcomes, and focused and stackable credentials.
• Advancing Student Success through Integrated Student Support Systems, highlighting collaboration across advising, enrollment, student services, technology, curriculum, and academic programs.
• Focused Pathways and Stackable Learning Journeys, exploring how institutions can create flexible pathways that recognize learners’ different goals, experiences, and stages of readiness.
• University-Funded Research, showcasing research and scholarship that contribute to the evolving understanding of teaching, learning, and student success.
The conference reflects the UAGC commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration across higher education and the workforce. Through presentations, employer engagement, and cross-functional discussion, TLC participants will explore ways to design learning around not only programs and credentials, but also the lives, aspirations, and futures of the learners institutions serve.
The conference platform will open Oct. 19 for asynchronous engagement and access to pre-recorded presentations, followed by live conference sessions Nov. 3-5.
