Designed by celebrated architect David Rockwell, the expansive restaurant offers a fresh interpretation of the classic French brasserie: timeless yet distinctly modern, rooted in the culinary traditions of France and infused with the unmistakable energy and rhythm of New York City. The opening marks a new chapter for the celebrated address, which has long been part of the Upper West Side’s dining landscape.

Renowned as a Michelin-starred French chef who has built his reputation over the past four decades in the United States, Boulud returns to his roots with this vibrant new restaurant. The completely redesigned space brings together and reimagines the address that had long been home to three of his beloved concepts: Boulud Sud, Bar Boulud, and Épicerie Boulud. The extensive menu features classic dishes such as Seafood Tower, French Onion Soup, Steak Frites, Lobster Soufflé, and Boudin Blanc, alongside a rotation of seasonal daily specials, from Dover Sole, Lamb Daube, and Duck Pie to Salt-Baked Branzino. Wide-ranging and varied, the selection references not only European tradition but also Boulud’s own culinary legacy, notably reintroducing his cult-favorite DB Burger.

“Growing up in Lyon, I was inspired by the great brasseries of France — lively, generous places with a convivial spirit, rooted in tradition and seasonal cooking,” said Daniel Boulud. “With Brasserie Boulud, we are bringing that spirit to New York: soulful, accessible cuisine served with warmth in a vibrant room. It is an everyday restaurant that becomes part of its neighborhood, and just across from Lincoln Center, we are happy to once again serve our neighbors from near and far.”

At the heart of the restaurant, a dramatic floating oval bar anchors the main dining room, surrounded by a variety of seating options, from Hollywood-style and railroad booths to intimate two-tops, giving each visit its own distinct experience. David Rockwell’s design channels Parisian ease with cerused-oak arches, rich leather banquettes, a zinc-topped bar, and glowing chandeliers. The adjoining Épicerie-café transitions seamlessly from morning pastries and coffee to afternoon sandwiches and salads, while a discreet cocktail lounge named Bar Viv, tucked behind the dining room, offers an intimate hideaway for post-performance drinks. Expansive outdoor café seating extends the restaurant’s lively atmosphere, while three private dining rooms on the lower level provide elegant settings for celebrations, business dinners, and special events.

At opening, the brasserie will serve dinner Tuesday through Sunday, while the adjoining Épicerie-café covers breakfast and lunch and Bar Viv keeps post-performance drinks flowing late.

“We are thrilled to be back at home on the Upper West Side, matching the cultural excitement of the Lincoln Center area with this new concept and beautifully revitalized space,” said Sebastien Silvestri, CEO of the Dinex Group. “Brasserie Boulud combines all the comfort of a French classic with the energy of New York’s finest culinary and hospitality offerings, for a truly exceptional experience.”
